Dr. Salim is committed to building India’s next-generation electronics ecosystem through low-cost, high-tech assembly units producing touch displays and ESFL-based innovations aligned with India’s Make in India vision.

Global Outlook and Sustainability

A passionate advocate of sustainable technology, Dr. Salim envisions Printed Intelligence as a low-carbon solution addressing environmental challenges while improving global quality of life.

Dr. Raimo Korhonen

 Director, Academics & Coordination

Raimo Korhonen has over 20 years’ experience in Printed Intelligence research, development, and business formation. His educational background is from universities in Finland. He earned his Master’s degree from the University of Oulu, Department of Electrical Engineering, and his Doctoral degree from Tampere University, Department of Automation.

He completed his military service in the Finnish Army’s Military Communication Corps and during the service worked also at an Army Research Center.

After his studies, Raimo Korhonen joined Valmet, a large global company of Finnish origin. Valmet is a global leader in paper manufacturing and automation technologies. He worked on the development of highly distributed computer systems for automating mills and factories. He led the development of a new-generation paper quality measurement system and a next-generation automation system integrating information system features into automation. His work experience includes assignments in Finland and Toronto, Canada.

When Valmet merged with Rauma to form Metso Corporation, Raimo Korhonen served as Vice President for Future Developments at the corporate head office. He initiated printed intelligence development within Metso and collaborated with VTT, the Technical Research Centre of Finland, significantly boosting Finnish printed intelligence activities.

After Metso, he worked with start-up companies related to printed intelligence before joining VTT. At VTT, he focused on printed intelligence research and later led the research area, managing over 100 researchers along with business development and sales activities. His role involved extensive international travel across Europe, North America, and Asia, with strong research cooperation within the EU and globally.

The printed intelligence research area at VTT played a key role in the formation of start-up companies based on VTT research. VTT, together with the University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and Business Oulu, established the Printocent community to promote business development in printed intelligence.

After VTT, Raimo Korhonen worked in start-up companies Iscent(which later became M-Boss) a and KeepLoop, both based on VTT research. Iscent specializes in large-scale nano- and micropatterning to produce functional surfaces without adding materials. KeepLoop develops an advanced mobile microscope for quality control in printed intelligence, with applications in education, gardening, and healthcare.

Korhonen remains active in the Printocent community, participating in meetings, exhibitions, and mentoring innovation events. He is also a co-founder ColloidTek, a Tampere University spin-off developing liquid analyzer technology.

Sustainability is a high priority for Raimo Korhonen. Iscent is recognized for meeting high environmental standards verified through scientifically proven Life Cycle Assessment methods. KeepLoop actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of “Quality Education”, including initiatives targeted at young children.

Raimo Korhonen has also been involved in volunteer work, teaching and mentoring young technology students in Nepal, one of Finland’s primary long-term development partner countries.

Dr. Jaakko Raukola (MBA)

 Director, Business Operations

Jaakko Raukola has over 20 years of experience in diverse development and business environments related to printing processes, plastics processing, roll-to-roll technologies, optoelectronics, and chemistry.

His educational background is from Tampere University of Technology, where he earned his Doctoral degree in 1998, specializing in new foaming technologies in plastics extrusion. The following year, his thesis received the Thesis of the Year Award due to its resulting new commercial applications in sensors and actuators.

He later continued his education in economics and business strategy, completing an MBA degree in 2002.

During his studies, Jaakko Raukola worked as an R&D Manager at SICPA (1995–1998), a Swiss-owned, international, family-owned printing ink company. Following this industrial experience, he sought to broaden his technological expertise and assumed a leading position at VTT – Technical Research Centre of Finland, where he worked from 1998 to 2011.

As Vice President at VTT, he gained a comprehensive perspective on interdisciplinary technologies with strong commercialization potential. His work focused heavily on process technologies and chemistry, with international collaboration spanning Europe, the United States, and Japan.

In 2011, Jaakko Raukola signed two exclusive license agreements with VTT to acquire and commercialize major innovations: KeepLoop Oy (Founder and Chairman of the Board), focusing on optoelectronics, and Iscent Oy (Founder and CEO), specializing in roll-to-roll technologies.

KeepLoop develops innovative optoelectronic solutions for mobile devices, with applications in industrial quality inspection, education, and biotechnology. Iscent produces micro- and nanostructures for applications in solar energy, membranes, and brand protection. The production facility for these technologies is located in Tampere, Finland.

KeepLoop has sold optical devices worldwide, while Iscent manufactures micro- and nanostructured films in wide web formats up to 1.2 meters. The company has also sold machinery and licensed roll-to-roll processes internationally. Iscent Oy became M-Boss Oy in 2025.

Jaakko Raukola has a strong passion for commercializing tangible, state-of-the-art technologies. In the 2020s, he became a serial entrepreneur by co-founding two additional companies: Sraw2Nature Oy, which patented an innovative biodegradable straw structure, and MyWater Global Ltd, which develops and sells advanced water purification chemistry.
